GOD IS SOOO GOOD! ! !

See how prayer works!

The intense nearly unbearable pain of correcting the original surgery is over.  As always, I praise God for bringing me through to this point.  The doctor did a fantastic job on the eye lift.  It looks great!

I’m listening to deep old hymn “What Wonderous Love Is This” by Fernando  Ortega.  It humbles me to the for of my soul.

“What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!

What wondrous love is this, O my soul!

What wondrous love is this,
That caused the Lord of bliss,

To bear the dreadful curse,

For my soul, for my soul,

To bear the dreadful curse for my soul.
To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing!

To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing!

To God and to the Lamb, Who is the great “I AM,”

While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing!

While millions join the theme, I will sing.

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on!

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on,

And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,

And thro’ eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,

And thro’ eternity, I’ll sing on.”

How could Jesus leave the bliss of heaven to take the curse of sin so prayer could flow through the cross to heal us inside and out.

Being grateful is primary in the spiritual life. Transformation flows through gratefulness, thankfulness, and praise.  We can see this pattern in the Psalms over and over. Psalm 57 is a good example.

Psalm 57

1 Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me,
for I take refuge in You.
I will seek refuge in the shadow of Your wings
until danger passes.
2 I call to God Most High,
to God who fulfills His purpose for me.[b]
3 He reaches down from heaven and saves me,
challenging the one who tramples me.Selah
God sends His faithful love and truth.
4 I am surrounded by lions;
I lie down with those who devour men.
Their teeth are spears and arrows;
their tongues are sharp swords.
5 God, be exalted above the heavens;
let Your glory be over the whole earth.
6 They prepared a net for my steps;
I was despondent.
They dug a pit ahead of me,
but they fell into it!Selah
7 My heart is confident, God, my heart is confident.
I will sing; I will sing praises.
8 Wake up, my soul![c]
Wake up, harp and lyre!
I will wake up the dawn.
9 I will praise You, Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to You among the nations.
10 For Your faithful love is as high as the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches the clouds.
11 God, be exalted above the heavens;
let Your glory be over the whole earth.

He lays out the problem before  God.  Some of these type of Psalms even go so far as complaining.  But, they always end with thankfulness, gratitude and praise.

This pattern helps us to know that God is good even when things seem truly awful.  These three attitudes will refocus our hearts and minds to a strong positive view of God and our circumstances.
